Abstract

We felt that this book would not be complete if we failed to try to predict what the future holds for the centrifugal pump. And to do so would first require to examine the past, and to present the story on “how we got to where we are.” Only then could we turn to predictions of future developments. In looking at the past, we arbitrarily selected a span of 50 years, although we might add that this choice was dictated by two separate and yet related circumstances.
