Abstract
Except for small domestic pumps such as hot water circulators and cellar drainers, the successful installation of a pump has two phases: designing the installation and physically installing the pump and associated equipment in the field. Projects involving large pumps or a large number of pumps, such as power plants, refineries, and large water or sewage installations, have, of necessity, a great deal of the installation design finalized before even writing the specification.
