Abstract
It might seem unnecessary to write yet more about trauma, but some items may be useful. There are special maneuvers; unde-scribed lesions can be typical; traumatic anotia has been kept under a shroud; microvascular surgery has opened up a new field, while knowledge of microcirculation is booming. Rare complications may block the customary pathway. Trophic and vasomotor nerve supply awaits recognition. Research is demanding, exasperating, and time consuming and most certainly does not meet the expectations of many young surgeons to get rich quick doing spectacular work. So maybe a few strokes of the brush can add some small details to the picture.
