Abstract
Ion kinetic energy (IKE) spectroscopy is a technique which records the ionic decompositions which occur in the first field-free region of the mass spectrometer prior to the electric sector1,2. These ions can be recorded by suitable defocussing techniques, by scanning the electric sector voltage from 0 to 100% energy (E) the daughter ions pass through the ß slit and these can be duly detected and recorded.
