Abstract
Previous studies have shown that IgE antibody is a cause of hay fever and probably involved in other allergic diseases (1). These findings immediately raised the possibility that prevention or suppression of IgE antibody response may have clinical value for hay fever patients. Our approach to this goal was to establish a cell culture system and adoptive transfer system for the analysis of cellular events in the IgE antibody response, and to study immunological effects of hyposensitization treatment in an animal model. In this presentation, I would like to briefly summarize recent progress in our approaches.
