Abstract
This article is by the co-founder of the trans-disciplinary art band Chicks on Speed (COS) a collective working to blur the boundaries between academia, pop music, new musical instrument design and theatrical fashion. She suggests that ‘demaking’ the high heeled shoe to create new forms of expressive audio-visual foot devices, a process which changes the usual purpose of shoes and associated stereotypes of high heeled shoe wear.
