Ossification After Major Trauma

  • Chapter
Soft Tissue Ossification

Abstract

Skeletal muscle ossification after a single major injury is one of the commonest causes of soft tissue ossification. Although the clinical features are characteristic, there was little attempt to distinguish this from other causes of soft tissue ossification until the beginning of this century (Binnie 1903, Finney 1910, Painter 1921).
