Abstract

Nearly all of the world’s deepwater rice in Asia and West Africa is grown in a belt from 4°S in the equatorial region of Indonesia to 28°N in the subtropical latitudes of northern India. Except for small areas in Indonesia, all deepwater rice is found in the northern hemisphere.
