Abstract

The highest yields of deepwater rice in farmers’ fields exceed 3 t/ha (Table 25.1) and in exceptional individual fields and on experiment stations, yields of 4 t/ha can be obtained. Thus 4 tons may be regarded as the yield potential of the best traditional rice cultivars. However, we have seen that average yields are about 2 t/ha ± 0.5.
