This region extends from the North Pole of the Moon down to 55° north latitude (on the far side). Lunar Orbiter spacecraft on missions 4 and 5 photographed this region with their medium-resolution cameras from the near side, shooting over the North Pole. As a result, the Lunar Orbiter coverage of the North Polar Far Side Region is quite low in resolution and at a very oblique angle.
