The Societies of Europe is a series of historical data handbooks on the development of Europe from the nineteenth to the twentieth century. They have been compiled by staff of the EURODATA research archive at the Mannheim Centre for Social Research (MZES), one of the leading social research institutes in Europe. Each book comes with a CD-ROM containing detailed documentation and print tables not included in the book. This series is the most ambitious collection of data on social change ever undertaken and is the essential reference for everyone with an interest in social science, political science, history or economics.
