About the authors

SUSAN HALFORD is Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Southampton, UK. Her current research explores the ways that new technologies reveal and disrupt the spatializations of working relations, specifically in health care. She is co-author, with Pauline Leonard, of Gender Power and Organisations and of Gender, Careers and Organisations.

PAULINE LEONARD is Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Southampton, UK. She is currently involved in research that explores the relationships between architectural design of office space and worker identity and motivation.
