Im Rahmen eines "manufacturing reengineering" zeichnet sich in der Produktion ein Trend zu dezentralen Strukturen und Kooperationen ab. Aktuelle Forschungsansätze stellen die Spezifikation adäquater Mechanismen zur Koordination dezentraler Einheiten in den Vordergrund. Basierend auf der Auktionstheorie untersucht Claudia Schmidt konkrete Koordinationsmechanismen und analysiert diese im Hinblick auf die Merkmale "„Effizienz der Allokation" und "informationstechnische Umsetzbarkeit". Aus den Ergebnissen leitet die Autorin Empfehlungen für die Gestaltung und Umsetzung marktlicher Koordinationsmechanismen in dezentralen Planungsszenarien ab.
