About the editors

RICHARD HOGSTON MSc(Nurs), PGDE, BA(Hons), RGN is Head of the School of Nursing at the University of Hull. He is formerly of the NHS executive and has extensive experience of teaching at pre-registration level.

PENELOPE M. SIMPSON MSc, DipEd, Cert Ed, DN(Lond), RCNT, RN is Senior Lecturer at the School of Health Studies, University of Portsmouth and helps to run a rest home for elderly clients. Nutrition, health promotion and surgical nursing are her main interests and she believes in leading by example.
