About this book

Speech/language and music are the two main forms of systematic human communication using acoustic signals. This implies that there are interesting and thought-provoking parallels between these areas, which may contribute towards our understanding of the processing and perception of auditory signals. This book reviews the relevant research fields, and includes speech and music examples on CD to help the reader to appreciate the sound characteristics discussed.
