Against the background of the rapid technological development in radiology, virtual endoscopy has evolved into a valuable independent diagnostic tool that is already employed in daily clinical practice and is likely to become increasingly important in the new millenium. In this book, detailed consideration is given to the theoretical background of virtual endoscopy, the requirements for data acquisition, reconstruction and visualization techniques, clinical applications and interpretation, and preliminary scientific results. In the section on clinical aspects, each chapter is subdivided according to anatomical region, with discussion and illustration of important aspects of imaging and diagnosis..
