About this book

Introduction

The present collection of formulas has been composed for students of economics or management science at universities, colleges and trade schools. It contains basic knowledge in mathematics, financial mathematics and statistics in a compact and clearly arranged form. This volume is meant to be a reference work to be used by students of undergraduate courses together with a textbook, and by researchers in need of exact statements of mathematical results. People dealing with practical or applied problems will also find this collection to be an efficient and easy-to-use work of reference.

This carefully revised and enlarged edition also presents methods of rank statistics and the analysis of variance (ANOVA) and covariance.

Reviews

From the reviews of the third edition:

"This third English edition is the translation of the fifth German edition ... . The collection is a reference work for business and economics students and practitioners." (Matthias Ehrgott, Zentralblatt MATH, Vol. 1138 (16), 2008)

From the reviews of the fourth edition:

“The English translation of the book is the fourth revised and extended edition. The collection of formulas can been considered as a compendium of mathematics suitable for economics and business, but the first address relates to students of economics and business at universities, colleges and trade schools. … contains the most important formulas, statements and algorithms in this field of applied mathematics. In many cases the formulas … can be simplified a many circumstances, making the applications some more user-friendly.” (Herbert S. Buscher, Zentralblatt MATH, Vol. 1184, 2010)
