Abstract
The behavior of the characteristics of two main branches (toroidal and poloidal ones) of solar activity in solar cycle (SC) 23 and at the beginning of SC 24 is discussed. Characteristics of SC 23 are compared with characteristics of previous cycles. Possible versions of the development of current SC 24 are considered.
