Correlation between parameters of the Fermi surface and the upper critical magnetic field Hc2 of magnesium diboride

Abstract

The temperature dependence of the upper critical magnetic field Hc2 of two-band MgB2 superconductor samples with various imperfection was studied. It was shown that the dependence of Hc2 on the residual resistivity can be described using theoretical concepts on the upper critical magnetic field of single-band superconductors. The parameters of the σ band rather than the entire Fermi surface consisting of two bands (π and σ) were used in the description.
