Open Access Driven Transformation of the Scientific Communication System: Current Status, Prerequisites for Change, Effects, and Prospects

Abstract—

This article presents interviews with leaders and staff members of 17 Russian and foreign organizations that represent the publishing community, libraries, community projects, and associations related to the science information system. The interviews were conducted as part of a study of the impact of open access on the scientific communication system. During the interviews we attempted to predict the future transformations of the scientific information market.
