A new xanthone from the roots of Securidaca inappendiculata

Abstract

A new xanthone, 3-hydroxy-1,2,5,8-tetramethoxyxanthone, along with three known ones, 1,3,8-trihydroxy-2-methoxyxanthone, 1,3,8-trihydroxy-4-methoxyxanthone and 1,3,6-trihydroxy-2,7-dimethoxyxanthone, was isolated and identified from the roots of Securidaca inappendiculata.
