Abstract

Talk about CD26, and the controversy surrounding its possible role as a coreceptor for HIV cell entry immediately comes to mind. Yet, the functions of the molecule go far beyond this. In fact, researchers in Australia are more interested in its role in liver function and disease. But the work of these researchers could also have implications for HIV research as they have succeeded in cloning the CD26 gene.
