Abstract
The search is now on for alternative forms of terfenadine that do not interact with other drugs to disrupt cardiac function. In addition, researchers are looking for clinical conditions which may predispose patients to cardiac abnormalities when taking drugs concurrently. There is also a renewed effort to effectively track interactions in the general population. These ideas were discussed at the 94th Meeting of the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics recently held in Honolulu, Hawaii.
