Photochemical Formation of V4+ in a Layered Vanadium Pentoxide Hydrate

Formation of V4+ upon UV-irradiation in the V2O5 ·n H2O was confirmed and the layered structure of this material was discussed on the basis of an ESR analysis of the species produced therefrom in combination with spectral change upon H2O adsorption.
