Conclusion

Failure analysis often requires that the forensic engineer become involved in many issues beyond the scientific analysis of why the failure occurred. It is important that the engineer provide a correct and objective evaluation of the failure. However, it is also important for the engineer to be very aware of and sensitive to the legal issues that often surround the investigation of a failure.
