On the rotor charge influence on the rotary centering in cylindrical electrostatic suspension

Abstract

The paper analyzes a component of potential of a body suspended in a cylindrical electrostatic suspension caused by buildup of a random charge for suspensions with DC, AC and PWM control. Recommendations on choice of laws of electrode potential control providing minimum induced charge and minimization of its random component are given.
