Nucleotide sequences of internal transcribed spacers (ITS1 and ITS2) of rDNA have been obtained and analyzed in natural populations of Planorbarius corneus snails from the Leningrad and Kaliningrad oblasts. The close similarity between ITS1 and ITS2 of the snails from different areas proves that Planorbarius corneus is a polymorphic but uniform species.
