A Sealant Based on Polydimethylsiloxane Modified with Gallium Oxide

Abstract

The effect of gallium oxide introduced as a filler into polydimethylsiloxane elastomer in an amount of up to 30 vol % on the strength, adhesion, and electrical characteristics of sealing compositions is studied. It is shown that, within the boundaries of retention of rheological properties (flow characteristics), the introduction of gallium oxide leads to an increase in the tensile and peeling strength. It is established that, in the presence of gallium oxide, the specific electrical resistance increases with an increase in temperature, but this dependence becomes weaker as the filler content grows.
