Abstract
Features of the solid-phase synthesis of metal stearates (calcium, barium, zinc, and silver stearates) on a Bridgman anvil-type device were studied. Factors of the solid-phase reaction between reagents were determined. The activation volumes of the reactions between stearic acid with calcium oxide and silver oxide were determined. The initial rates of the solid-phase synthesis of silver and calcium stearate were calculated. The rates of synthesis of metal stearates in liquid and solid phases were compared. The data showed that metal carboxylates could be synthesized in a solution-less medium.
