Natural complexes of hydrothermal systems of Kamchatka as objects for recreation and tourism

Abstract

Characteristic properties of natural complexes of hydrothermal systems are outlined, and a classification of the kinds of recreational impacts is given. Results from detailed ecologo-geographical investigations in the valley of the Geizernaya river (Kronotskii State Zapovednik, Kamchatka) have been used to carry out a differentiation of the thermal natural-territorial complexes (NTC) (rang of facies) according to the degree of their recreation resistance, and an optimal spatial structure of a long-term monitoring of recreational activities is suggested.
