Photochromic oligoazomethines with di(benzothiophenyl)cyclopentene moieties

Abstract

The new photochromic compound 1,2-bis 6-formyl-methylbenzo[b]thiophen-3-ylcyclopentene is synthesized and used to prepare oligoazomethine. In poly(methyl methacrylate), this oligomer shows photochromic behavior.
