Abstract

Poly(γ-benzyl L-glutamate)- g-poly(ethylene glycol) (PBLG-g- PEG) with different grafting ratio was prepared using P-toluenesulfonic acid as catalyst. The effect of the molecular weight of mono- methyl oligo(ethylene glycol), the molar feed ratio and reaction time on the grafting ratio was investigated. The micelles of PBLG-g-PEG were prepared by the dialysis method in deionized water. Transmission electron microscopy and dynamic light scatter studies showed that the micelles exhibited spherical morphologies and the diameter of the micelles was in the range of 50–200 nm. Clonazepam was loaded onto the core part of the micelles and drug-loading content and rele ase rate were dependent on the grafting ratio.
