Abstract

Terbium(III), europium(III), and gadolinium(III) coordination compounds with o-aryl benzoic acids were obtained from their sodium salts under optimal conditions. Their composition and coordination mode of carboxylate anions were determined by IR spectroscopy and complexometric titration. Luminescence quantum yields of terbium(III) and europium(III) complexes were determined. Terbium(III) complexes are promising for use in organic light-emitting diodes and light-transforming coatings.
