Imbricin, an Antibiotic of Nonmedical Application: Biological Activity, Environmental Friendliness, and Prospects for Use in Plant Protection

  • Published:
Russian Journal of General Chemistry Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

Biological experiments with imbricin, a nonmedical application antibiotic, were carried out. It was established that this macrolide nonpolyene antibiotic is an environmentally friendly preparation possessing antifungal, insecticidal, and phytoregulatory activities. The prospects for its application in plant protection against diseases and harmful arthropods, as well as for increasing the agricultural crop yield were shown.
