Abstract
Mercury ion exchange on two inorganic ion exchangers and a composite organomineral sorbent has been studied under dynamic conditions. The inorganic ion exchangers, especially polysurmin, efficiently adsorb mercury(II) ions from aqueous solutions, including those containing other metal ions. The composite material successfully adsorbs mercury(II) ions under static conditions, but its capacity under dynamic conditions is insignificant.
