Medium-frequency (f<1 MHz) oscillations in a quadrupole electric-discharge galathea trap (“ string-bag”)

Abstract

Two oscillation modes (f 1∼25 kHz, f 2∼250 kHz) experimentally observed in an electric-discharge galathea trap of the quadrupole type (“string-bag”) are described and the nature of these oscillations is discussed.
