Donna Asteria is a lecturer in the Department of Communication Sciences, Faculty of Social and Political Science, Universitas Indonesia. She is a researcher on several projects funded by university and government grants. Her focus is the gender dimension in topics related to communities’ empowerment, environmental management, communication, and education. Her interest in gender began in 2001 when she enrolled in a master’s program for gender studies, and since she has been involved in women’s empowerment activities in relation to the environment and the community. In 2012, she completed a doctoral degree in Environmental Sciences.
