Certain Hypotheses in Optimal Control Theory and the Relationship of the Maximum Principle with the Dynamic Programming Method

Abstract

Certain hypotheses concerning optimal control are refined and the relationship between the Pontryagin maximum principle and Bellman's dynamic programming method in the context of these hypotheses is discussed.
