Methods of Increasing the Efficiency and Quality of Structures of Thematic Patent Databases in Patent Automated Information Control Systems

Abstract

A statement of the problem, a model, and a method of synthesis of optimal logical structures of thematic patent databases (TPDB) are considered, which are used at the stage of the engineering design of patent automated information control systems (AICS). An analysis is performed of special features of the development and operation of TPDBs relating to the class of very large databases (VLDB). In solving the problem of synthesis, for the efficiency criterion use is made of a minimum of the total time of the loading and testing of TPDBs and also the service of a set of requests of users. The constraints of the synthesis problem are system, network, and structural constraints. A method is suggested for the solution of the stated problem, which is based on the branch and bound method.
