Abstract
Necessary and sufficient conditions for implementing arbitrary commutations without blocking in multiring commutators are formulated. Multiring commutators are shown to be tolerant to single faults in arbitrary commutations. The maximal speed and minimal complexity of multiring commutators are computed.
