Photochemical Reactions in Gaseous Mixtures of C2F4 and CF3I

Products of photochemical reactions occurring in gaseous mixtures of C2F4 and CF3I under vacuum-UV irradiation were studied. The major photolysis products are linear perfluoroparaffins CnF2n+2 and linear perfluoroalkyl iodides CnF2n+2I. The product ratio is consistent with the suggested kinetic scheme of chain reactions of telomers.
