Electrochemical Synthesis of 3-Methoxycarbonyl-2,2,5,5-tetramethylpyrrolidine

Abstract

Electrochemical halogenation of 4-oxo-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine (triacetonamine) in the electrolytes triacetonamine-KX-CH3ONa (X = Cl, Br, I) was studied, and a procedure was developed for preparing 3-methoxycarbonyl-2,2,5,5-tetramethylpyrrolidine by this reaction.
