Abstract

Volkmar Glaser’s system of “Psychotonics” is based upon the involuntary motoric expressions — occurring constantly in communication. Dystonic muscles may yield information about the kind of dysfunction happening during social interaction. V. Glaser’s merit consists in having demonstrated the relation of the Qi-containing meridians within a person to the nature and quality of that person’s connection to the exterior world. In this context, the meridians as depicted in Oriental Medicine, especially in connection with the idea of Keiraku, serve as the basis for a psychosomatic interpretation. Applying the idea of Keiraku in a pedagogical or a therapeutical setting helps to reveal and foster human potential.
