František Matúš, 30 July 1961–17 May 2018
Professor Matúš (Institute of Information Theory and Automation, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague) was a member of the Editorial Board for Information Geometry. His advice and support were invaluable in launching the journal. He co-organised the last conference Information Geometry and Its Applications (IGAIA IV), on the occasion of Shun-ichi Amari’s 80th birthday, and he was co-editing the Springer Proceedings of that conference, which is to appear in 2018.
