Driving Simulator with High Platform Performance and Low Latency

Today, driving simulators are a powerful engineering tool for the evaluation of car and driver behavior. But which key characteristics make a driving simulator valuable for chassis development? Cruden and Audi have combined their expertise in the fields of driving simulation, software and vehicle technology, first identifying these exact characteristics and then optimizing them for subjective vehicle dynamics analysis. The goal is to save physical prototyping time and cost by using a state-of-the-art driving simulator.

Avoiding Motion Sickness

Drivability features of a car can be assessed by the delay in the response of various vehicle states [1]. Accelerations (for example lateral ones) are felt by humans throughout the resulting body forces (haptics) and information from the vestibular organ.
