Schluckstörungen sind eine häufige Indikation zur gastroenterologischen Diagnostik. Sie bedürfen kurzfristiger Abklärung. Die Differenzialdiagnose ist umfassend und reicht von funktionellen Beschwerden wie einem Globussyndrom über Entzündungen bis zu einer malignen Erkrankung (Ösophaguskarzinom). Zumeist gibt es effektive Therapiemöglichkeiten der Beschwerden.
