Zusammenfassung
Die diabetische Nephropathie ist die häufigste Ursache einer terminalen Niereninsuffizienz. Um sie zu verhindern ist es wichtig, früh einzugreifen. Dazu gehört eine gute Blutzuckereinstellung mit HbA1c-Werten um 7 % und tiefer. Mindestens genauso wichtig ist die Absenkung erhöhter Blutdruckwerte. In den letzten Jahren zeichnete sich zudem ab, dass sich auch zunehmend über Medikamente ein Nierenschutz generieren lässt.
