Während einer kardiopulmonalen Reanimation müssen reversible Ursachen des Atem-Kreislauf-Stillstands erkannt und behandelt werden. Die Überprüfung der 4H und HITS erlaubt ein strukturiertes Vorgehen. Eine frühzeitige Korrektur der reversiblen Ursachen verbessert die Chancen auf die Wiederherstellung eines Spontankreislaufs.
