Seit einigen Jahren gilt die FODMAP-arme Diät („low-FODMAP-diet“), die nur wenige fermentierbare Oligo-, Di- und Monosaccharide sowie Polyole enthält, als Therapieoption bei Reizdarmsyndrom und anderen funktionellen Bauchbeschwerden. Vor der Verordnung sollten jedoch einige wichtige Fragen geklärt werden.
