Bei der Behandlung der chronisch-idiopathischen Urtikaria kommt jetzt Bewegung ins Spiel: waren nicht wenige der Patienten und ihre Ärzte bislang nach einer vergeblichen Hochdosistherapie mit Antihistaminika oder auch Kortikoiden fast am Verzweifeln, besteht jetzt eine mögliche Option mit der subkutane Gabe des monoklonalen IgE-Antikörpers Omalizumab.
